Flock Theatre is a professional, not-for-profit theatre company committed to working with any community into which we are invited and through original, collaborative and educational efforts, to find the theatre that best suits the needs of that community. This artistic mission requires a resident ensemble performing for all ages, nationally and internationally and offering educational services in our art.
Founded in 1989, Flock Theatre is one the most adventurous classical theatre companies in New England. Whether working with the timeless words of Shakespeare, Moliere and Sophocles, or more modern classics such as, Eugene O’Neill, John Steinbeck and Oscar Wilde, Flock Theatre is dedicated to creating original, collaborative and educational theatre. Perhaps best known for their long-standing summer Shakespeare in the Arboretum, Flock Theatre performs year-round in a variety of venues, including their winter “nest” at the First Congregational Church, on the New London Pier, at the historic Shaw Mansion Museum and throughout New England. Internationally, Flock Theatre’s is highly regarded for their puppetry, including their long-standing collaboration with National Puppetry Conference. Through its Actor’s Conservatory, artistic residencies and programs at schools, Save A.R.T., and alliances with local organizations, Flock Theatre presents opportunities for artists of all levels of experience to expand their talents by working with professionals.
